Steve is Managing Director and Co-Founder of Fivefold. He works closely with business owners to shape transaction strategy, align objectives and deliver the process from initial preparation through to completion.
Steve brings more than 25 years’ board-level experience, including over a decade as an executive director in M&A advisory. His responsibilities variuosly encompassed both governance and operational leadership across several business critical functions, including research, market approach, data and data resources, lead advisory capabilities that underpin thorough buyer insight and well executed deal processes.
At Fivefold, Steve leads client engagements across the firm’s core service lines, with particular emphasis on strategic preparation, buyer positioning and transaction execution.
Earlier in his career, Steve held senior sales and operations director roles and began his management career in retail banking, providing a strong commercial foundation and a practical understanding of owner-led enterprises.

Chris, together with Steve Anstey, sets the strategic direction of Fivefold and serves as Operations Director.
Chris has more than 20 years’ experience in leadership roles, including senior positions within sell-side M&A advisory. Prior to co-founding Fivefold, he was Head of Research at an M&A adviser, where he built and led high-performing analyst teams across four continents. He is recognised for rigorous buyer research, market-making and the effective engagement of both UK and international acquirers on behalf of owner-managed businesses.
He has led or held oversight responsibility for buyer market-making, with more than 20 years supporting transactions across multiple sectors and deal values.
